Over the weekend we were grateful for some times of slower pace and even some extra rest. We began constructing a new rabbit cage, sorting clothes, and enjoying being together. Monday we purchased new storage bins to help us organize the clothes that are being washed and returned to us. Thank you to each of you who have taken a load or two and have washed them for us! That has been such a huge help and blessing!!
Monday, Katherine and Aunt Julie worked on making chocolate chip cookies for the firefighters who were at our blaze last week. After we parked in fire station parking lot we were figuring out where the main entrance was and as we were coming up to the door they received a call and went racing off to the emergency. Because it was a smaller station, no one was left. We we tried later in the evening and they were gone again... so we'll try again another day :-)
We are so thankful for the men and women who serve as firefighters, first responders, and police.
Short-term housing has been the latest hurdle we've been navigating. The hotel we have been staying at has worked well but it isn't a long-term solution. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday we visited different houses and considered what would work best for our family... including location, pricing, functionality, and timeframes. Thank you for your prayers as we have been navigating this new aspect of our lives. Tuesday evening we were able to nail down a location that is just 5 minutes away from our home. A church had an extra guest house available which is furnished and will work really good for us, especially over the holidays. Praise the Lord for how He provides!
Tuesday we also worked on setting up shelves at In The Gap that we will use to story our long term storage items once they come back from the Restoration Company and while we wait for the house to be rebuilt.
We have enjoyed Alissa's extended family as various ones have stopped by to visit and help. It has also been a blessing having her brother's family here along with her parents.
To each of you who have prayed, ordered items for us, and given so generously, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! We are so deeply thankful and grateful for each one who has rallied around us during this challenging time. Thank you.
As we enter into the Thanksgiving season, please take time to count your blessings. Make a physical list... and see if you can make it to at least ten bullet points.
May the Lord abundantly bless, refresh, and encourage you throughout this week.
More coming soon...
